Welche Faktoren bestimmen den Erfolg eines Teams, oder stellt dieser sich zufällig ein? Gibt es wissenschaftlich belegte Faktoren, welche man aktiv nutzen kann, um im eigenen Team Frieden zu stiften oder als Führungskraft sein Team so zu besetzen, dass die Chancen auf eine erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit die größtmöglichen sind? Diese Fragen sollen im Folgenden genauer betrachtet und, sofern möglich, beantwortet werden. Während zahlreiche Arbeitgeber Teamfähigkeit als einstellungsrelevante Anforderung in fast alle ihrer Stellenanzeigen aufnehmen, gibt es oft von Professoren oder Presse negative Berichte, dass das Arbeiten im Team deutlich unproduktiver wäre, als wenn der Arbeitnehmer in Eigenregie alleinverantwortlich handeln würde. "In vielen Fällen wäre die Summe der Einzelleistungen deutlich höher als das, was im Zuge von Teamarbeit präsentiert wird" heißt es gar von dem Soziologen Richard Hackmann. Im Gegensatz dazu wird oft in Fachliteratur über Teamwork verkündet, dass Teams eine "zentrale Bedeutung in modernen Organisationen" innehätten und dazu beiträgen, effizient die Leistungsspanne zu erhöhen und insgesamt die Personalausgaben zu senken. In Anbetracht dieser Dissonanz ist es wichtig zu betrachten, ob es Wege und Möglichkeiten gibt, den Erfolg von Arbeitsteams zu erhöhen und die Scheiterwahrscheinlichkeit zu minimieren. Wenn man diese Faktoren bereits in der Personalentwicklung einbinden kann, könnte man die Chancen auf erfolgreich agierende Teams signifikant erhöhen. "Neue Studien zeigen einen positiven Effekt von Teamentwicklungsmaßnahmen". Von diesen positiven Effekten würde dann natürlich auch ein Unternehmen profitieren, das durch höhere Produktivität der Mitarbeiter in den Teams folg
