About the Author: Roger Payne was born in South Wales, at the end of the Second World War. He began his working life as a fifteen year old in the Junior Leaders Regiment Royal Artillery and when he was seventeen and a half he attempted the fearsome selection course for the Army's elite Parachute Regiment and finally entered into its ranks after completing a parachute course. Nine years later he accepted a position in the Australian Army to train men for Vietnam. He eventually rose to the position of Chief Instructor of fitness training to the Corps of Infantry. In that time he gained diplomas in Human Movement and Human Resource Management. He also received the highest award a serving member of the Defence Forces could receive, The Chief of the Defence Force Commendation, then one year later an unprecedented Order of Australia, one of the highest awards an Australian citizen can achieve. He is still the only Australian serviceman to receive both. He left the military in 1993 and became an adviser on leadership and team building to the Australian Mines Rescue Service and coordinator of team leadership skills in the National Mines Rescue Competition attended by teams from all over the world. Roger is now retired and has written a number of published books about the World War II, one of which 'Paras - Voices of the British Airborne Forces in the Second World War' is still selling on Amazon and other sites. He is in the process of writing two other military books. The Team Building Bucket List is his first attempt at a book on team building and leadership.
