Tang Soo Do Book of Hyungs Volume III includes step-by-step written instructions and drawings for learning the advanced Hyungs; Ginto, Jitte, Wang Shu, Kang Sang Koon So, Kang Sang Koon Dai, Oh Sip Sa Bo, Tae Kweuk Kwan Dai and SoJin classical Hyungs and hard to find So Rim Jang Kwan Hyung that were integrated into Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do many decades ago from Grandmaster's Chuan Fa style. Also included is a history of Tang Soo Do, the relationship between the Korean Hyungs and it's anaimal symbol, the importance of the Hyungs to Tang Soo Do and the early Korean Kwans that taught Tang Soo Do and a discussion about the minor and major Korean Kwan leaders. A table of all the early Korean Kwans and unique details of the Kwans creator and styles taught bring readers a great insight into the Korean people and their love for Tang Soo Do. Volume III has almost 340 drawings for the reader to understand each step of each Hyung. Each new drawing is numbered and matches with a numbered written instruction provided. Line drawings are included matching Hyung's movements and directions of motion for each of step of the Hyung. Also included is a high level perspective drawing of the area a practitioner moves through and executes the Hyung. These diagrams allows the practitioner to see the Hyungs in several perspectives to better understand what the creator had intended. Volume III is to be used only as a learning aid to supplement the formal instructions from a Black Belt Tang Soo Do Instructor. These aids are not intended to allow these Hyungs to be learned by students before they are ready.
About the Author: The author lives and trains California. Len has earned 5th Dan Black Belts in Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do and 3rd Dan Black belt in Soo Bahk. Len has been training in martial arts since he joined his first Tae Kwon Do class after graduating college. Len began teaching martial arts after earning a Cho Dan (1st degree) Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do almost simultaneously after 8 years of training and testing. Len has written and published both magazine articles and books, writing and publishing more than 20 articles for several martial arts magazines including the prestigious World of Martial Arts, Tae Kwon Do Times, Black Belt and Mudo Dojang. Many of Len's magazine articles illustrate the lost history and evolution of Korean martial arts. For this reason, Len's articles are often republished around the world because of their excellent historical content, unavailable otherwise. Len's magazine articles also appear on many martial arts web sites in the United States and around the world. Len has also published more than 20 books on Korean martial arts. These books include the traditional styles of Tang Soo Do, Soo Bahk, Tae Kwon Do and Kong Soo Do Korean martial arts. One of Len's books for children received the Good Housekeeping magazines Seal of Approval. Len currently has more than 25 years of martial arts experience in three different styles. He has also studied in other styles of Shotokan and Wing Chun. Len was promoted to 5th Dan in both Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do. Academically, Len has earned a B.S. degree in Physics and Math, an M.S. degree and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. degree in Education. Len had worked professionally as a Teacher, Physicist, Astrophysicist, Nuclear Physicist, a Mechanical Engineer and an Electrical Engineer designing digital and RF communications systems and spacecraft for NASA and U.S. Air Force. Some of the author's satellites he designed include the Boeing/Air Force's GPS constellation of satellites. The author was responsible for the GPS program winning funding by the Pentagon. The author is also responsible for the design and test of NASA's GOES-Next geostationary weather and space science satellites, NASA's Extreme Ultra-Violet Explorer Low earth orbiting space science satellite, NASA's International Space Station and NASA's Space Shuttles for launching GPS satellites 4 at a time. Len also works as an executive and has worked at several computer, telecommunications and aerospace companies.
