About the Author

Bill Franks (Marietta, GA ) is the Chief Analytics Officer for Teradata's global SAS program (Teradata is the world's largest company solely focused on creating enterprise agility through database software, enterprise data warehousing, data warehouse appliances, and analytics. It has approximately 8,000 associates in more than 42 countries with a client base of over 900 customers). In this role, he provides thought leadership to clients on trends in the Advanced Analytics space, how clients can leverage those trends, and how Teradata and SAS can support those efforts. Franks also oversees the Business Analytic Innovation Center, which is an analytics think tank jointly sponsored by Teradata and SAS. He has an extensive background in analytics-based marketing strategies with a focus on merging analytics and software. He has consulted with a wide range of clients in a range of industries including Retail, Finance, Travel, Telecommunications, Non-Profits, and several professional sports teams. He is also on the faculty of International Institute for Analytics. Franks earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Statistics from Virginia Tech and a Master's degree in Applied Statistics from North Carolina State University
