Bill Ramstack describes life as a baby boomer growing up in the early 50's in the Midwest. He writes of a religious experience dominated by fear and filled with hypocrisy. Frustrated, like many in his generation, he eventually gives up on his church AND on his God. Decades pass. During a funeral of a dear friend, he is confronted with questions concerning our mortality. Is there a life after death? Is there a God? Where is God? Can we have a relationship with the Divine? Bill decides that day to go on a private quest to get questions answered. He chose to pursue any spiritual path that appealed to him with no rules other than to follow to his heart and to pursue what worked for him. What follows at times resembles an Indiana Jones expedition. What resulted stupefied him. The more he pursued these goals, the more the mystical experiences emerged. About the Author: I was born and raised in a German Catholic community in Wisconsin, one of 10 children. The family lived above the tavern owned and run by my dad. During the summers of grade school I worked picking radishes as a field worker. During the summers, while in high school, I loaded and unloaded semis full of watermelons. After high school I worked for a time as a foundry worker. While in college I made ends meet by working part-time as a dishwasher, counter clerk, and janitor. Once I acquired my teacher's certificate I taught high school history and psychology. I enjoyed my years coaching football and track. The psychology back ground helped me get a better grasp understanding the psyche of others. The power of the mind continued to intrigue me. I began to delve deeper into its mysteries. As I began my fifth decade, my interest took a more spiritual bent. My point in noting these experiences is to emphasize that I am an ordinary man with an ordinary history who while pursuing the Divine has been gifted with mystical experiences. Make no mistake about it; my life is still filled with fear, anxiety and frustration. But, my life now also has mystery, excitement, and most importantly, hope - more than I had in the past. I continue to live in Wisconsin with my dear wife of 37 years. We have two grown children.
