About the Book

Taelo

Taelo lived more than thirty thousand years ago in the US northwest.

The Early Years are stories of Taelo and Golden Hawk in their early years

In The Golden Feather this same team takes the next step in their development. They first travel South into the Andes of South America. They meet the people living in those areas.

In The Journey of Discovery Taelo and Golden Hawk travel from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean and see the wonders of nature.

In Dangerous Passage the team travels across the northern ice bridge to the origin of their race. They meet and befriend a clan of their heritage and bring a group back with them.

In Condor Clan Slingers the team returns to aid the Condor Clan in their battle against an aggressive Warrior Clan.

In Circumvention Taelo pushes beyond the boundaries and discovers that the world is like a round boulder. It is rough and pitted but by moving in one direction you return to were you started.

In the Journey of Sages, Taelo guides the Sages of his clan on trip around the Pacific. They meet people on the far side.

The Early Years

The white capped snow topped mountains, the dark green of the tall pines, the ice glacier slowly ever so slowly moving between the mountains surround the valley where Taelo (Tā low) and his cousin Golden Hawk call home. The two young boisterous and energetic boys, range throughout their valley and into the mountains as they grow and hone their hunting skills. They are young and unafraid but very aware of the dangers around them. They quickly learn the lessons taught by their fathers and listen closely to their mothers. The stories from both sets of parents guide and inspire them to accomplish more than their parent's intent but in all cases their accomplishments set them apart from the other young children.

They attract both girls and boys as close friends. They demonstrate their abilities and courage as they face a wide variety of events.

When in danger, Taelo normally, but always unconscious of his action, steps to the front and protects his cousin. His cousin always has his back. They are inseparable. As they grow, their skills grow with them, and their exploits are more adventuresome and daring. As a team they seem able to overcome any the challenge that they face. They grow closer and they are recognized by those around them as exceptional.

A mad mother bear with a baby cub confronts them. They transform the salmon season. A saber tooth tiger hunts them. A crazed lion meets its match. Their friendship expands to embrace the team that follows them. In each situation by working together they face the danger and survive the moment. Their close bond, their pure spirit, their eagerness to learn provides the guiding light that carries them forward in a journey that neither they nor those around them can truly envision.
