About the Book

Magdalena ressemble un peu au petit chapon rouge, Sébastien est-il le loup ? Elodie, alors serait une bergère. Cela aurait pu être une histoire. Je n'ai pas écrit celle d'un nouveau petit chaperon rouge. C'est un autre récit dont que je vous soumets à votre lecture.

Chaque année, une famille se réunit au sein du château familial, le grand-père y habite. C'est une lignée de juristes, un métier comme un autre, ils auraient pu être brigands des grands chemins. Tel ne fut pas le cas.
Sébastien un jeune membre de cette lignée que tout le monde verrait bien étudié le droit en a une allergie au droit, il a presque des boutons si on mentionne une loi ou un règlement. Le droit lui parait aussi intelligible qu'un traité de mathématique écrit en mandarin.

Dans la famille, il y a aussi sa cousine Élodie, ce n'est pas vraiment l'entente cordiale. Nous y croisons aussi d'autres jeunes plus ou moins amoureux des lois et des règlements.

Les souvenirs de la grand-mère, qui a pris la poudre d'escampette, du moins, voilà 10 ans, elle a disparu imprègnent plus moins la famille. Une branche de la famille est revenue quand celle-ci s'est évaporée.
Un conflit se renouvelle à chaque succession, un des enfants a le château, les autres de l'argent. A chaque génération, les mécontents la porte dans le meilleurs des cas.

La première nuit, il surprend Élodie en petite tenue en train d'invoqué des dieux inconnus, il se demande si elle n'a pas pris un code civil sur la tête, ou même toute la collection Dalloz. Apprendre le droit provoque parfois des crises de démence. Sébastien en a l'exemple.

Dans les prés de la propriété, il rencontre un chaperon rouge qui ne portait pas une galette à sa grand-mère, elle s'intéresse aux fantômes et aux êtres surnaturels. Elle lui révèle que dans le château, on entend le cri des suppliciés au sein des oubliettes. D'autres bruits se font entendre, il se demande si c'est une hallucination, une farce ou des revenants.
Il invite la demoiselle a vérifier par elle-même, que personne ne gémit dans les sous-sol du château. Une histoire se noue. En vacances, tout va vite, on a peu de temps.

Le cas d'Élodie l'inquiète, il le communique à Magdalena, le chaperon rouge, quelques jours plus tard, il apprend qu'Élodie a subi un choc émotionnel, elle recherche une aide auprès de sa grand-mère, elle accuse son grand-père, président d'une Cour d'Appel de l'avoir tué.

Magdalena se dévoue pour consoler Élodie, elle a besoin d'aide, la nature humaine peut-être resplendissante. Sébastien se méfie, car il la soupçonne de s'intéresser aux fesses de sa copine, ses allures de sainte nitouche en costume taillée pour les facultés de droit ne le trompe pas. Il se peut aussi que ses fantasmes le domine, le privant de son libre arbitre.

Les jeunes participent à l'embellissement de la propriété dans les vignes et les vergers, ils se mettent à la recherche de la grand-mère.

Élodie et Magdalena deviennent inséparables. Un jeu se crée entre elles, il n'en ai pas au courant, le gain est de savoir la nature de ce choc émotionnel.

Le loup est dans la bergerie. On ne sait pas qui est le loup, c'est peut-être une louve, la bergerie n'est pas sans doute pas uniquement peuplé de brebis apeurés.
