About the Book

Sweet Melody follows the Huffman family through the trials and tribulations of living in a Victorian home inhabited by the spirit of a musical genius. When their son, Gerry, suddenly begins playing the piano with the expertise of a child prodigy they are baffled and concerned about the appearance, out of nowhere, of their child's unexplained talents. Gerry is as confused as his parents because his sudden talents are unknown to him. Recurring character, Agatha Whidby, helps the family try and figure out the source of Gerry's talents. This book is the third in the 'Open Pond Ghost Stories' series and continues taking the reader into the town of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and its historical past by way of its Victorian era homes.
About the Author: Sweet Melody is a collaberative effort by husband and wife team, Jim Bovay and Rickie Wood-Bovee. Jim and Rickie have been working side by side for over thirty years; first in the entertainment world as circus acrobats and then lately as writers. Rickie has three previously published books and Jim has four. Both Jim and Rickie are avid readers and have published books for others through their company imprint, Three Bars Publishing. Their own writings vary from Jim's memoir 'The Gadjo series', to Rickie's series of novels about the quaint Victorian town they live in, DeFuniak Springs, Florida. The Open Pond Ghost Stories all take place in the Victorian homes located in DeFuniak Springs. Venturing into fiction, Jim joined Rickie in the writing of Sweet Melody. Not unfamiliar with the world of classical music, Jim contributes to the authenticity of this novel through his experience as a classical musician. Jim and Rickie have been working together, through several different endeavors, since the late 1970's, and although they are different people, they think very much alike, so have written this book, Sweet Melody, as if they were one person.
