It is evident that destination managers and travel consultants face rapid changes in operations due to automation and disruptions caused by travel technology. The rate of redundancy created by technology is so high that it is essential to focus on skills that cannot be automated. It's not only the technology that matters even people management is a concern. Especially when every person wants to exercise the right to travel, with a caveat from the United Nations directing tourists to travel with responsibility, it's easier said than done. A discerning eye can identify opportunities in every problem created due to mass tourism. Successful tourism practitioners are the ones who can overcome the challenges thrown by the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world. Every effort made by a destination manager to deliver service that contributes towards the triple bottom line is welcome i.e. people, profit, and the planet. It's all about providing alternative solutions to the destination managers who want to overcome the challenges and barriers created due to globalization, multicultural environment, resident's behavior, training gaps, language differences and lack of communication. The audience for my book includes destination managers, tour operators, travel consultants, tourism students, and tourism entrepreneurs. The structure of the content will be formal with a quote associated with the chapter. From an instructional point of view, each chapter will include the learning outcomes which will enable the learner and facilitator to identify the literary progression, the literature will be accompanied with key learning points which will create memory pegs for the learner to retain better, it will also be accompanied with 'facilitators checkpoints' which will make it an enriching and engaging session if the topic is taken in class. Online resources such as cases, quizzes, and projects will be provided to make it easy for any facilitator to engage in a classroom session. A section on 'managerial implications' will provide a much-needed management angle to the book and will have key takeaways for managers. I believe that the literary world has very few practical guides of such nature. For future managers, it is important to be aware of techniques to consciously reduce the carbon footprint arising from tourism-related activities.
