About the Author:

S.A. Senthil Kumar is a visiting scholar at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He is also serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at Pondicherry University, India. He earned his PhD in management from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He has published many articles in journals and edited books in the area of Healthcare Management. His research interests include Healthcare Management, Insurance and Risk Management. Bharatendra K. Rai is Associate Professor and chairperson in the Department of Decision and Information Sciences at the Charlton College of Business, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. He completed his PhD in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University and later worked at Ford as a quality/reliability engineer. His research interests include quality/reliability engineering, robust design, and applications in forecasting, data mining, and pattern recognition. He has a masters in quality, reliability, and operations research from Indian Statistical Institute and another master in statistics from Meerut University. He also worked at Indian Statistical Institute as a SQC specialist providing consulting to Indian industries during 1993-2000. Angappa Gunasekaran has received his PhD (Industrial Engineering and Operations Research) from the Indian Institute of Technology (Bombay) in 1987. Since then he has worked in various positions ranging from a post-doctoral fellow to a senior lecturer at different universities in Canada, India, Finland, Australia, and United Kingdom. In 1998, he joing UMass Dartmouth as an associate professor of operations management. He has been the director of Business Innovation Research Center since 2006 and served as a Chair of the Department of Decision and Information Sciences over 6 years. Currently, Dr. Gunaserkaran is a Dean of the Charlton College of Business at UMass Dartmouth. He has widely published and been serving on the editorial board of several journals. Laura Forker is a Professor in the Department of Decision and Information Systems, Charlton College of Business, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. She has also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Operations and Technology Management at Boston University and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at Michigan State University. She earned her PhD at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. Her research interests include Healthcare Management and Policy, Process Management and the Business of Aging.
