About the Book

An ancient proverb goes: "It takes both sunshine and rain to make a rainbow." In a sense this book is an autobiography of a young man who experienced sunshine and rain throughout life that ended up at the end of a rainbow. Moreover churches seemed to be revitalized and the pews were being filled again with attentive worshipers. Church attendance for Christians was placed as high as 74%. Most of us after WW II enjoyed rock and roll music, checked out new car models, viewed movies from our cars at drive-in theatres and visited friends parked in the stalls of drive-in restaurants. In the postwar 40's, who could forget how the entire family gathered around the living room radio for an evening of broadcast shows like: Date with Judy, the Aldrich Family, Amos & Andy, Baby Snook, Bob Hope, George Burns, Judy Canova, and Red Skeleton. Wonderful sound effects helped us to visualize everything in our minds. It all s
