Hinzu kommen Aussagen, dass "[g]ezielt für Absolventen weniger als ein Prozent der Jobs ausgeschrieben [waren]. Wenn sie nicht gerade einen exzellenten Lebenslauf präsentieren konnten, gelang vielen der Berufseinstieg erst nach mehreren Praktika" (Holzapfel 2006). Ganz schön hohe Anforderungen, die heutzutage an Berufseinsteiger gestellt werden: Beim Durchblick großer deutscher Tageszeitungen genauso wie in offiziellen Publikationen der Agentur für Arbeit wird augenscheinlich, dass sich Hochschulabgänger mit einer massiven Erwartungshaltung seitens späterer Arbeitgeber konfrontiert sehen und diese von Seite der Medien noch verstärkt wird. Verblüffend dabei sind jedoch nicht unbedingt die vielen unterschiedlichen und dazu hohen Ansprüche an Absolventen, es ist klar, dass Unternehmen nur die besten haben wollen; vielmehr wird immer wieder darauf hin gewiesen, dass ohne diese geforderten Qualifikationen sowieso überhaupt kein Job zu finden sei.
