About the Book

Howdy y'all! My name is Mitch Fairchild, and I am a Graphic Design teacher from Central Texas. My passion for seeing students succeed and families grow stronger is at the very core of my being. I love to witness students as they tap into their God-given talents and turn those gifts into successful entrepreneurial endeavors. And for the last 7 years, I've been helping students do just that through my graphic design centered curriculum, Student Like A Boss. I teach my middle school students how to take their graphic design skills and start an online business where they can share their designs with the world...and get paid for it. As I've helped students start successful businesses over the years, I've come to appreciate the process of starting a business at a young age and I've come to realize that students...even as young as 4th and 5th graders...can be successful at business if they want to. I've also found that their chance for success is greatly increased when mom and dad take an interest in their efforts. This book is a culmination of some of the positive benefits I've seen in students who have started their own companies. Not just graphic design focused business, but lawn mowing businesses, baking businesses, poop scooping business, jewelry making businesses, and more. My hope is that parents will read this book and consider helping their child start a small side business that might just have the potential to grow into a full time business. It is my desire to help as many elementary and middle school kids (and parents) as possible start a business in hopes that they will continue working on it throughout their high school years so that when they graduate, they'll have a steady stream of income coming in as they enter college OR the workforce. I want their transition form high school into the "real world" to be as smooth as possible and as small a burden on parents as possible
