Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 2,3, Hamburger Fern-Hochschule, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die internationale Zivilluftfahrt sah sich in den vergangenen zwei Jahrzehnten radikalen Veränderungen ausgesetzt. Durch die voranschreitende Liberalisierung des Luftverkehrs sowie durch den massiv ansteigenden Wettbewerbs- und Preisdruck durch die vermehrt auftretenden Billigfluggesellschaften (sog. "Low-Cost-Carrier") wurden die ehemals staatlichen Fluggesellschaften gezwungen, sich völlig neuen Gegebenheiten auf den Märkten anzupassen.1 Im Zuge der immer stärker werdenden Globalisierung wurden Wertschöpfungsprozesse von vielen Branchen und Unternehmen rund um den Globus verlagert und verlangten daher ein bis dato nicht gekanntes Ausmaß an Effizienz und Effektivität.2 Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt war die Zivilluftfahrt weitestgehend vor Wettbewerb geschützt und nahezu jedes Land unterhielt seine eigene Staatsfluglinie.3 Plötzlich mussten sich die gerade privatisierten Fluggesellschaften auf ihren Heimatflughäfen und etablierten Routen, die sie über viele Jahre quasi als "Monopolist" beflogen haben, neuen, aufstrebenden Wettbewerbern stellen. Dabei kristallisierte sich die Notwendigkeit eines effizient arbeitenden und straff organisierten Unternehmens mehr und mehr heraus, um den Passagieren - also den Kunden - zusätzliche Serviceleistungen anbieten zu können und sich gleichzeitig durch eine systematische und konsequente Kundenorientierung zu profilieren.4 Auch die neu entstandene unternehmerische Verantwortung gegenüber den neuen Eigentümern bzw. Gesellschaftern ("Shareholdern") wurde ein ganz wichtiges Kriterium bei der Unternehmensgestaltung und -organisation. Auch auf der Beschaffungsseite sind die Airlines einem enormen Kosten- und Preisdruck ausgesetzt.
