About the Book

English summary: This critical edition and scholarly French translation of Strabo's Geography offers readers an authoritative version of this essential classical text. Intended in two volumes, this second tome presents not only Strabo's descriptions of regions such as Egypt, but also political and historical accounts of Augustus and Rome. The text is accompanied by a scholarly commentary that draws on recent philological and archeological research, augmented by maps and indices.
