Annalisa, la protagonista, vive un'infanzia serena nell'ambiente familiare e scolastico.

Al termine delle scuole dell'obbligo, cominciano a manifestarsi momenti di disagio che si accentuano dopo la morte del padre. La madre si rivolge al Servizio di Salute Mentale per tentare di risolvere gli attacchi di ansia e di aggressività della figlia e ritrovare un clima di serena convivenza.

Annalisa, dopo una serie di ricoveri nel reparto di Psichiatria, viene inserita in un Centro diurno per persone con le sue stesse problematiche poi in alcune Comunità, ma le numerose esperienze, anche se arricchite da conoscenze interpersonali varie e interessanti, si dimostrano fallimentari.

A seguito di un collasso dovuto a una crisi respiratoria, la protagonista è ricoverata in terapia intensiva per un paio di mesi.

Al termine della convalescenza, a seguito di una mirata indagine diagnostica, la madre è informata che Annalisa è affetta da una malattia genetica rara, la "Sindrome Prader Willi".

Questa patologia determina un diverso tipo di assistenza e si ricerca la Struttura più idonea, ad accoglierla. Annalisa vive esperienze di rapporti interpersonali spesso difficili e traumatici per la difficoltà di individuare un metodo personalizzato alla sua particolare disfunzione.

Durante l'ennesimo ricovero, la Psicologa del Servizio Psichiatrico definisce un programma educativo di recupero delle capacità della ragazza e ne organizza l'inserimento in una Comunità il cui personale è istruito a realizzare tale progetto.

L'AUTRICE

Nata a Cesena il 2 luglio 1980, dopo le scuole dell'obbligo ha frequentato l'Istituto Alberghiero.

A 19 anni, ha perso il padre e si sono accentuati i segni di un disagio emotivo già presenti in età infantile e adolescenziale. A seguito di alcuni episodi di scompenso psichico è stata più volte ricoverata nel Reparto Psichiatrico di Diagnosi e Cura di Cesena.

I medici del servizio di Salute Mentale l'hanno inserita, nel corso degli anni, in diverse Comunità, con riscontri altalenanti e insoddisfacenti.

Durante una degenza in ospedale, Eloisa ha subito un collasso, dovuto a una crisi respiratoria, che ha richiesto il suo trasferimento in terapia intensiva.

A seguito di ulteriori accertamenti, le veniva diagnosticata una malattia genetica rara, la "sindrome Prader Willi" una patologia alla quale si potevano riferire i suoi disturbi psichici e comportamentali e indirizzava i medici a un altro tipo di assistenza.

Si sono così susseguiti diversi tentativi di inserimento in Istituti e Comunità idonee per persone disabili, ma con esiti discontinui e inadeguati.

Attualmente Eloisa è ospite di una struttura dove gli Educatori sono stati istruiti da una Psicologa del Servizio Psichiatrico di Cesena a uno specifico e personalizzato metodo di assistenza, per seguirla nel suo percorso di recupero e di sviluppo delle sue capacità.
