About the Book

THE NEW BOOK 'STIRLING' * by craig lock "I was taught that everything is attainable, if you're prepared to give up, to sacrifice, to get it. Whatever you want to do, you can do it, if you want to do it badly enough. However, most humans quit too soon in life." * - former British racing driver Stirling Moss's famous quote "The characters seem to represent the virtues and the resilience of the 'little' people, a story (or stories) to which we can all relate. In essence it's about hope and faith: a tale (and tales) of the unquenchable spirit of tenacity in battling on, no matter what are our circumstances. And then eventually finding a way, a pathway to overcome personal adversity ... and to ultimately succeed in glorious triumph." - anon "When (and where) love endures, hope inevitably follows" - the writer "A story (and stories) to bring hope to the human soul." A short, yet rewarding tale of faith, hope and especially love, together with many of my various articles on my great passion motor racing and the human mind . Anyway. ENJOY... Sept 2011 "An easy-going narrative, which weaves, dodges and dives." THE PLOT: Racing driver in a deep coma (Stirling): Quest trying to find the unknown author (Stirling's favourite), because the father is convinced that if he can bring the author (and the son's shaggy Airedale dog, also called 'Stirling') to his comatose son's bedside, a miracle will occur. Sets out to find the one person he believes will be able to help his son come out of his deep coma on the slopes of Devils Peak and get better. "Faction", but perhaps even a true story!!!! There are various threads in the story: * a highly intelligent and creative family, and a free-spirited and loving mother, a son and a daughter with vivid imaginations. * the "driven"father (who was actively involved in WW II) was much later in life inspired by the unknown author's anti-war stance and inspirational and empowering writings. * a few thoughts on the mental health profession ("we don't know what more we can do for you, so take a pill and disappear" ) Only joking, there are many good, caring very committed people around in that profession/area!!! The main point is that we already have it within ourselves to get out of very sticky situations in life. All people occasionally need is support and simple encouragement. * Essentially stories of love: father - son and son - father son - father - mother - sister- brother ...and all of them for an unknown writer/author, " a champion of hope" In short, it's a story about hope, love and PEACE (inner), plain and simple! Written FOR MY BELOVED SONS, Sean and Gareth Watching children grow is like threatening the ivy to climb the garden wall. You wait for it to happen you hurry it along with love. But still you're disappointed at giving someone life enough to walk off on their own and not be carried in your arms. You never turn back - not once, and yet one day they've grown apart or taller It's all the same. Polly put the kettle on, we'll all have tea. Giving love to children has made us older overnight. - Rod McKune "Hope is the anchor of the soul." "Hope is a state of mind, not of the world. Hope, in this deep and powerful sense, is not the same as joy that things are going well, or willingness to invest in enterprises that are obviously heading for success; but rather an ability to work for something because it is good." - Vaclav Havel (Former President of Chezkoslovakia and playwright) "From the depth of the valleys, in the deserts of despair, there is hope... as there is the unquenchable oasis, the immense breadth and depth of the human spirit... always." "When you have hope in your heart, then you'll never walk alone." - craig (as inspired by the signage at the Liverpool football stadium in England) NOW LET'S WRITE THE STORY! Started jan 14th Jan in the year 2011
About the Author: About the Author on the 'Writing Journey': Craig is a motor racing fanatic and petrol-head", who loves writing about Formula 1 "I 'work' with ideas...and words are my tools." "I write because I simply HAVE to" "Writers help readers to see the world differently." "I write because something inside myself, inner and unconscious forces me to. That is the first compulsion. The second is one of ethical and moral duty." "I write about and believe in the resilience of humanity- I truly believe in the triumph of the human spirit." "I really value words and the power of them to communicate effectively; so in my various stories try to illustrate and then let readers draw their own conclusions about a certain scenario, as well as the characters searching for their own values in an increasingly complex social and political landscape. However, I do feel an obligation to give a complete picture of the situation, which is often not a clear-cut 'black or white' issue (as in South Africa). I never want to proscribe how people should think and feel my only duty as a writer is to be totally honest." - craig "I love to write about, share stories of the resilience and courage of ordinary (what's that?) people." In his various writings Craig strives in some small way to break down and economic, social, cultural and religious barriers. Craig believes that whilst we should celebrate our differences, what we share in the form of our common humanity is way more important than what divides us. Craig believes in (and loves) sharing information and insights to try to make some difference in this world: to help and especially encourage people along life's magical journey to live their dreams and be all they can be... and that brings him the greatest joy. He truly believes in the great potential of people to be all they can be an become. Craig is currently "working" on 'Endless Possibilities, Far and Great Horizons' - true inspiring stories of the human condition in overcoming seemingly impossible odds. In his life mission Craig hopes to encourage, motivate and inspire people to be their best through realising their full potentials and live their very best lives. Craig believes in the great potential of every human being in the journey of life and loves to encourage people to share their individual (and guiding) spirits, so that they become all that they are CAPABLE of being.
