About the Book

The secret of the last Parfait is a historical fact adventure fiction novel, dealing with multicultural (American, French, European and Chinese) and historical events that really occurred in the 13th century. The Last Parfait, a religious leader of the Cathar religion who hides the existence of the second part of a treasure. The treasure and the Cathar people exterminated by a crusade ordered by Pope Innocent III are historical facts. The light-motive of the novel is the pursuit of Steve SANTA by members of Faction 2, modern day dissident members of the Knights Templar. The time and place are today. The story starts in Paris France with an American called Steve Santa who has lived in Paris for 25 years. Steve is retired and divorced. He meets a Brazilian woman named Teka da Costa in a Parisian sidewalk cafe and they start a love affaire. Teka disappears but they meet again in Budapest. Teka reveals that she is a member of the Daughters of Tsion. She involves him in her search for the Cathar treasure. On their next meeting Teka gives Steve a ring as a token of her love, but she is killed by the explosion of her car as she tries to flee the faction 2 agents. Steve decides to continue her mission and leaves for Germany where meets a leper Krupal informing him about the existence of the Voynich script which is a key for finding the treasure. Steve goes to Yale to see the Voynich script and get a copy. The Dongba language is highly suspected as the language used in the Voynich script. Steve then makes contact with a Chinese interpreter Ping. Dong Ping is a translator specialized in the Dongba language and speaks English perfectly. Steve meets Ping in China and they go together Lijiang where Ping presents the Voynich script to her Dongba professor the Shaman Fu Guoyu. The Shaman informs Steve and Ping about the sky view which will indicate the way to find the treasure. Steve and Ping leave immediately for Paris, Rennes-le-chateau, Carcassonne and finally to Toulouse where they find the sky view on the wall of the Saint Sernin Basilica. They follow the clues one by one in the south of France until the treasure is found
About the Author: Raised in Flint Michigan, Emery Borka joined the USAF from 1955 to 1965 as a Cryptographic repairman. He participated in Operation Dominic, atomic testing on the Pacific atoll of Johnson Island after which he returned to Washington. Married a French citizen, he was sent to France and accepted his honorable discharged in France. He embarked on a career of managing technical writing and translation departments in European computer manufacturing companies and later founded and managed his own Technical communications company. After five decades in The Netherlands and France, Borka returned to the United States, then was established in China where he is devoted to writing adventure novels French history and its personal adventure in France and Europe as well as a new series based on the Chinese culture, traditions and History.
