AKAD Fachhochschule Stuttgart, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die rapide Zunahme der Komplexität von Führungsaufgaben in den letzten Jahrzenten ist auch empirisch erwiesen. Um diesen neuen Ansprüchen gerecht zu werden sind Führungsansätze notwendig, die neben ökonomischen auch soziale, ökologische und technologische Aspekte berücksichtigen. Es ist daher ein höchst aktuelles Anliegen ein Management-Konzept zu entwickeln, das all diese Aspekte, die Unternehmen als soziale Systeme betreffen, durch ganzheitliches Denken integriert. Das St. Galler Management-Konzept (SGMM) stellt diesbezüglich einen vielversprechenden Ansatz dar. Die Vorstellung dieses Konzepts und vor allem die Verdeutlichung seiner Potenziale für den Einsatz in mittelständischen Betrieben ist das Ziel dieser Arbeit. Das Verständnis von Wissenschaft ist historisch von einer kausalen Denkweise und der Suche nach Ursache-Wirkungsbeziehungen geprägt. Dementsprechend beruht auch das klassische Managementverständnis auf der Annahme, dass eine zielgerichtete Maßnahme auch das intendierte Ergebnis herbeiführen wird . Trends wie die rasante Globalisierung und technischer Fortschritt, schwerwiegende demographische Veränderungen, gesellschaftlicher Wertewandel, abrupter Wechsel von starken Wachstumsimpulsen und Rezessionen sowie der steigende Stellenwert des Umweltschutzes führen dazu, dass simples Kausalitätsdenken der komplizierten Realität nicht mehr gerecht wird. Die heutige Unternehmenswelt ist dafür zu dynamisch und komplex. "Bewährte" klassische Konzepte tendieren zur Reduktion dieser Komplexität durch vereinfachende Annahmen oder die Betrachtung lediglich eines Teilausschnitts der relevanten Realität. Mit diesem Vorgehen kann sich die Führungskraft weiterhin der Illusion hingeben, ihre Umwelt nach wie vor verstehen und nach ihren Vorstellungen beeinflussen zu können. Die jü
