Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2001 im Fachbereich Sprachwissenschaft / Sprachforschung (fachübergreifend), Note: 1,0, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Britta Altenkamp-Nowicki will in den Landtag. Doch in ihrem Wahlkreis im Essener Westen weht ihr ein rauer Wind entgegen. Auf einer Versammlung ihres SPD-Ortsvereins geht eine schon etwas betagtere Genossin die ungeliebte Kandidatin scharf an. "Und dann deine Aussprache: immer, dat' und, wat'! Hast du das denn an der Schule nicht gelernt? So kannst du uns doch in Düsseldorf nicht vertreten!" Die vorangehende Anekdote steht am Beginn dieser Arbeit, da in ihr eine Vermutung über den Zusammenhang zwischen einer bestimmten sprachlichen Varietät und der zu erwartenden Akzeptanz des transportierten Inhalts geäußert wird. Einfacher ausgedrückt: "Wer, dat' und, wat' sagt wird im Landtag nicht ernstgenommen." Mit der Schule wird zugleich auch die Institution benannt, der vermeintlich die Aufgabe zufällt, sprachliche Varietäten mit einer erwartungsgemäß niedrigeren Akzeptanz auszumerzen. Hinter dem Einwurf verbirgt sich also eine linguistische Hypothese mit weitreichenden Konsequenzen für die Sprachdidaktik: 1.) Die Benutzung bestimmter sprachlicher Varietäten verschafft ihren Sprechern in bestimmten kommunikativen Zusammenhängen eine höhere Akzeptanz, die Benutzung anderer Varietäten dagegen ist geeignet diese Akzeptanz von vorn herein zu untergraben. 2.) Da es die Aufgabe der Schule ist, die Schüler mit möglichst gleichen Chancen ins Berufsleben zu entlassen, muss sie diese dazu anhalten, sprachliche Charakteristika mit einer erwartungsgemäß niedrigen Akzeptanz abzulegen und sich statt dessen anderer sprachlicher Varietäten mit erwartungsgemäß höherer Akzeptanz zu bedienen. Die Untersuchung dieser zweigliedrigen Hypothese ist Gegenstand der vorliegenden Arbeit.
