Die so genannte Freiburger Schule innerhalb der Bibelwissenschaft gehort nach Gerd Theissen zu den bedeutendsten Impulsen aus katholischer Feder, die in die biblische Exegese in jungster Zeit hineinwirken. Ohne das Wirken Max Kuchlers ist diese Freiburger Schule, die die Welt der antiken Bilder und ihrer lebensweltlichen Kontexte mit biblischen Texten verbindet und in diesem Sinne auch neutestamentliche Texte erdet und die sichtbare Seite von Religion (G. Theissen) aufarbeitet, nicht denkbar. Aus Anlass seines 75. Geburtstags haben sich Freunde, Kollegen und Schuler der Aufgabe gestellt, in den Spuren Kuchlers biblische Exegese weiterzudenken. Orientiert an drei Themenfeldern, die aus den Arbeiten Kuchlers erwachsen, untersuchen die Autorinnen und Autoren die Zusammenhange von Bild und Text, Topographie und Text sowie Geschlecht und Text und spuren dabei neuen Kontexten und Perspektiven fur das Verstandnis biblischer Texte nach.Der Macht der Bilder, der Bildsprache und den Sprachbildern gehen in diesem Band Luc Devillers, Martin Ebner, Petra von Gemunden, Margareta Gruber, Peter Lampe, Stephan Lauber, Philippe Lefebvre, Franz Mali, Matthias Morgenstern, Ferdinand R. About the Author: Markus Lau ist Oberassistent am Biblischen Departement der Universitat Freiburg (Schweiz). Dr. theol. Karl Matthias Schmidt ist Professor fur Bibelwissenschaft mit dem Schwerpunkt Neutestamentliche Exegese an der Justus-Liebig-Universitat Giessen. In 1987-88 he was director of studies at the Dormition Abbey in Jerusalem. 1989-1994 he established and directed the Biblical Pastoral Ministry of the Diocese of St. Gallen. From 1999 to 2012 he participated in the establishment of the BIBLE+ORIENT Museum and served as its first director until 2012. Co-director of the BIBLE+ORIENT Database online (BODO). Dr. theol.
