Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Journalismus, Publizistik, Note: 1,3, Hochschule Bremen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es ist nicht erst seit dem Aufschwung des Internets ein Problem: Die Zeitungen fürchten um ihren Lesernachwuchs. Und warum sollte der auch in die Tageszeitung schauen, wo doch zugegeben das Internet dem Papiermedium gegenüber viele Vorteile bietet - in Aktualität, Crossmedialität, Breite und Tiefe des Angebots, bis hin zum Imagevorsprung, der für Jugendliche auch Relevanz hat. Die Zeitung muss ihnen also Gründe geben, um nicht endgültig als Auslaufmodell zu enden. Denn wenn die jungen Leser nicht früh lernen, zur Zeitung zu greifen, tun sie es in späteren Jahren meist auch nicht mehr. Das Thema dieser Arbeit ist demnach relevant in Hinblick auf die seit Jahren aktuelle Diskussion um die "Zukunft der Zeitung" - hängt diese doch ganz entscheidend davon ab, ob es dem Papiermedium gelingt, Jugendliche als Leser und spätere Abonnenten zu gewinnen. Jugendseiten können ein guter Anfang sein, begeistern die jugendlichen Rezipienten allerdings nicht zwangsläufig auch für die anderen Ressorts und den Rest der Zeitung. Eine Jugendsportseite könnte Jugendliche zumindest an die Lektüre des von vielen Lesern verschmähten Lokalsports heranführen - vorausgesetzt, sie ist gut gemacht. Denn dies kann nur gelingen, wenn sie sowohl die Wünsche der jungen Leser als auch die Anforderungen an einen modernen Lokalsport erfüllt. 1:0-Berichte reichen nicht aus, um vor allem auch Mädchen oder jugendliche Freizeitsportler an das Ressort heranzuführen. Vorher werfe ich einen Blick auf das große Ganze: Zu Beginn wird betrachtet, wie viele Jugendliche von der Tageszeitung überhaupt noch erreicht werden, warum dies so häufig nicht der Fall ist, und welche Maßnahmen die Medien heute schon ergreifen, um gegen den Trend anzugehen. Anschließend betrachte ich den Ist-Zustand des Lokalsports, denn ohne guten Lokalsport im Allgemeinen kann es keine
