Selbst eigene Erfahrungswerte bewegen sich im Hinblick auf die allenfalls punktuell in Erscheinung getretenen Spielformen in begrenztem Rahmen. Nun bietet das Unterrichtsfach Geschichte neben inhaltlicher Breite eine Viel-zahl an Medien, Sozialformen und Methoden, die für den Einsatz historischer Lernprozesse geeignet scheinen. Neben Bildern, Objekten, Musik und Filmen als attraktivitätssteigernde Phänomene, findet auch das Spiel als didaktisches Moment und alternative Sozialform zunehmend und insbesondere seit den spä-ten 1960er und zu Beginn der 1970er Jahren Eingang in die curriculare Umset-zung der Lehrerinnen und Lehrer . Im Zuge erlebnispädagogischer Ansätze erhielten spielerische und gestalterische Ansätze Aufwind und rekurrierten auf einen offenen, kreativen und abwechslungsreichen Geschichtsunterricht, der Geschichte erlebbar und explorativ gestalten sollte. Der darin enthaltene inten-dierte Ausgleich eines einseitig kognitiv ausgerichteten Unterrichts durch emo-tionale Aspekte legitimiert jenen Ansatz und bietet darüber hinaus Möglichkei-ten medienunabhängiger Spielerfahrungen . Das Spielen an sich verweist indes auf eine tradierte Form menschlicher Kultur, die bereits seit Anbeginn der griechisch-römischen Antike erkennbar ist . In Anlehnung an Kauke, der Indizien eines universellen biologisch begründba-reren, an mimischer Signalgebung erkennbaren, Spieltriebs (Spielgesicht) for-muliert, wird deutlich, dass jedes Individuum als potenzieller Spieler geeignet ist .
