About the Book

Spencer Brown considers himself as the strangest thirteen-year old anyone could ever meet. He is an orphan who has now been adopted along with his little sister Julie by a kind family known as the Browns. Little does he know of the exciting but equally dangerous journey which awaits him as he discovers his power and his true heritage in a blindsiding new world full of dragons, demons, monsters and magic.Description: The book belongs to the fantasy genre. It features the life of a thirteen-year old boy named Spencer Brown. The book is written from a second person approach. It covers the treacherous adventures of Spencer's first few months in Linirea-the country he belongs to in the other world. This world is where he was born, and it is the place which conceals his evasive past. In these mystical months, Spencer faces brutal Barbarians, spies which tail his every move, a demonic dragon which guards a legendary sword, blood sucking vampires, sneak attacks from assassinators sent to murder him, Dark sorcerers and much more. He also meets his true mother, Lady Welsh, and gains loyal friends which dutifully aid him in the trials and tribulations he goes through to remain alive. The biggest and burliest of his companions is none other than a towering seven feet tall knight by the name of Sir Magnus, but his best friend by a long shot is a scared boy of seventeen called Jason. As he paves his way through the obstacles which stand in his way, he discovers the undeniable beauty of this new, strange land and the pleasure which it gives him. He stays in the Linirean Royal Palace during his days in this world, and becomes acquainted with the king of Linirea, Emperor Edgar Lionheart. He experiences the fabulous ever-changing training battlefield called Ligrid, which Linirea uses to train its finest warriors. The book describes and recounts Spencer's journey through this fantastic new world and takes the reader sailing on a truly wonderful voyage. The approach and the language used in the manuscript is clear, concise and intuitive, deliberately designed to warp the reader into the plot and the story and keep him/her thoroughly entertained through the experience the book has to offer. The book is crisp and satisfying and tops in at around 61,000 words. This around average word count makes it so that the book is not exhaustingly long for the reader, and nor is it extremely short. Rationale: The book is predominantly written for children and young adults. The story constantly strives to emphasize the innate human values we all ought to maintain-friendship, willpower and hard work. It sets the tone for the eventual conquest of good over evil and presents to the reader that good intentions will always yield good results and vice versa. It appeals that a person should not lose hope, and keep fighting for what is right, no matter how hard or illogical it might seem. It sheds light upon the complex bond that a friendship is, and it preaches that dark and difficult times lie ahead and that soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy. The book fulfills the reader's needs for a truly magical book which will usurp them away from their routine, stressful life and dissolve them into the story. It will successfully plunge the readers into an interesting alternate universe and temporarily relieve them of their boring everyday endeavors. It fits with contemporary literature as it is refreshingly modern in its own unique way and is bound to attract and preserve the reader's attention.
