Brief History They first competed in the National League Division Three in 1950 and were based at Tongham Greyhound Stadium. The star of the 1950 and 1951 team was Trevor Redmond while his fellow Kiwi Geoff Mardon was also a star man. When the third division became defunct in 1952, Aldershot joined the Southern League for a year and then the stadium was used for open meetings and Southern Area League events until 1960, when after a short season of open meetings, the track closed. Speedway took place at a track in Boxhall Lane in the pioneer days of the late 1920s and early 1930s.
