About the Book

Champion race driver Ryan Forza is killed in the fiery crash of a prototype exotic car, his body never recovered from the debris. In reality, he survived the violent explosion, miraculously cocooned by the car's experimental 'living' skin. As Forza barely clings to life, project scientist Dr. Morgan Bell shields his body with the same developmental substance that had miraculously saved him, convinced that the experimental automotive material that rescued him can be re-engineered not only to protect him, but to restore him. Mysteriously, as the synthetic skin evolves, so does Forza. Workouts intensify as he develops primate-like strength and accelerated reflexes. The new skin makes him nearly impervious to physical injury while the absence of his human skin now makes Forza strangely hypersensitive to the feelings, moods, and intentions of those he encounters. He can read the good in most people while sensing the evil that lies in the hearts of others. His new skin also becomes a barometer of his own emotions, displaying a spectrum of colors from a calm, collected blue to an intense red driven by burning rage. Stripped of his old life and now armed with superhuman capabilities, as "SPECTRUM" Forza devotes his second chance to aiding and protecting those in need... and, in time, to avenge his own murder.
About the Author: Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Don Falloon is a passionate classic car enthusiast and certified early NASCAR fanatic. His first novel, HIDING BEHIND THUNDER, was borne of a lifetime love of the sport of stock car racing. The television series STAR TREK debuted on Don's 8th birthday and would influence much of his early writings, most of them based on the iconic TV series and published in local fanzines. Those adventures in the Sci-Fi universe would eventually show up in his second novel, HEART of EZDAR. That background, along with growing up on the original TV series of Superman, Batman, and The Green Hornet in the 60s would ultimately inspire his third novel, SPECTRUM. Don has also been a radio and nightclub deejay, color commentator for the Historic Stock Car Racing Series at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and the San Jose Grand Prix, an historic guide at the Leland Stanford Mansion, California State Capitol and the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, and he appeared (very) briefly in the low-budget indie movie 'Dare to Dream: The Alan Kulwicki Story' after assisting in the re-creation of a key race car for the film. An avid motorcyclist until a 2015 accident (and its resultant broken body parts) prompted his wife to request he restrict himself to four-wheeled transportation, Don still resides near Sacramento with his wife, Patti, and their five furry four-footed grandkids.
