About the Author: Lucinda Sage-Midgorden grew up in the Pacific Northwest; the descendant of pioneers who traveled west mostly by wagon train. Some of them were led by famous men like Kit Carson. She found everything about the west enchanting and loved to listen to stories about the hardships of those early pioneers. She also loved learning the little snippets of information about the Native American tribes. On the one hand, she was proud of her heritage, but on the other, sad that her ancestors pushed out the native people. When she finally attended college at the ripe old age of twenty-two, she acquired two degrees, one in religious studies and the other in theatre and speech. In her mind the two disciplines were related because both told stories of how people live their lives. Storytelling as an actor captured her heart and led her to Portland State University where she earned her Master's in Theater Arts. For a time, she thought she would make theater her profession, but eventually she took a circuitous route from teaching drama and English to writing. The Space Between Time is Ms. Sage-Midgorden's first novel and second published book. Her first book, Scottosaurus the Little Dinosaur, a children's story of finding the way home, was illustrated by her husband. It was originally a gift for their oldest nephew, Scott. After eight years of writing, she has discovered that following the writing muse takes her to unexpected places. This first novel was to have stood alone, however, the idea for further adventures for Jenna and Morgan presented themselves. The as yet untitled sequel will address the Suffrage movement of the past, and how Jenna in the present must fight some of the same battles in the political climate in which she finds herself. Ms. Sage-Midgorden lives in the Southwest with her husband, enjoying fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and the varied wildlife that appear in their yard.
