Diese für Kinder so wichtige Lebensphase wird von pädagogischen Fachkräften und der Sozialen Arbeit professionell begleitet. Die Themen Übergang in die Schule, (sozial-)pädagogische (Lebens-)Bewältigung und Inklusion sind eng mit einander verknüpft und bedingen sich gegenseitig. Sie können ohne einander nicht zu Ende gedacht werden. Nur wenn pädagogische Fachkräfte sich thematisch intensiv mit der Übergangsproblematik auseinandersetzen, werden sie auch in der Lage sein, allen Kindern unabhängig von Herkunft und Ethnie, die gleichen Chancen zu Beginn der Schulzeit zu ermöglichen. Primäres Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es daher, auf die sozialen und ethnischen Probleme im Übergang in die Grundschule aufmerksam zu machen und die Profession Sozialer Arbeit zu stärken. Immer mehr Eltern entscheiden sich dafür, ihr Kind ein Jahr später zur Schule zu schicken. Dies könnte sich aber negativ auf ihre späteren Schulleistungen auswirken, berichtet jetzt ein deutsch-britisches Forscherteam in der Zeitschrift "Journal of Development Medicine and Child Neurology". Das fehlende Jahr schulischer Lernerfahrung kann einher gehen mit durchschnittlich schlechteren Leistungen. Will der Übergang von der Kita in die Grundschule nicht gelingen, können Brüche in der Bildungsbiografie der Kinder die Folge sein. Bereits in der Grundschule hat jedes dritte Kind Angst vor schlechten Noten und davor, in der Schule zu versagen, so das Ergebnis des aktuellen LBS-Kinderbarometers. In der Vergangenheit waren für die Probleme der Kinder im Übergang von der Kita in die Grundschule in erster Linie die Familien und die Kita zuständig.
