About the Author: ALBERT FORMENT es licenciado en Geografía e Historia, en las especialidades de Historia Contemporánea (1984), y Historia del Arte (1993), y Doctor en Historia del Arte por la Universidad de Valencia (1995), con una tesis doctoral titulada Vanguardia artística y compromiso político: vida y obra de Josep Renau, editada por la misma Universidad (1995). Fue becado por el Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno (IVAM) para la catalogación de la biblioteca y el archivo privados de Josep Renau (1992-1993), y por la Unidad Técnica de Bellas Artes y Museos (1992) y la Dirección General de Patrimonio Artístico (1993) de la Conselleria de Cultura, Educació i Ciència de la Generalitat Valenciana con programas para formación y perfeccionamiento de historiadores del arte. El año 1994 recibió el Premio Alfons Roig de la Diputación de Valencia, XII edición, en el apartado de trabajo inédito de investigación sobre artistas o movimientos de arte contemporáneo. Es autor del guión del documental Josep Renau para la serie de Canal 9, "Valencians que fan història" y de artículos de su especialidad en revistes como Archivo de Arte Valenciano, Tendencias en las artes y el diseño, Kalias o Goya. Ha publicado los libros Josep Renau: Història d'un fotomuntador (Afers, 1997) y Joaquim Michavila. Converses amb un pintor d'avantguarda (Tàndem, 1999) y Josep Renau: Catálogo Razonado, (IVAM, 2004). Además, quedó finalista del Premio Anagrama de Ensayo del año 2000, por el volumen titulado José Martínez y la epopeya de Ruedo ibérico (Anagrama, 2000) y ha ganado el Premio Enric Valor de Novela en Valenciano 2006 por la obra El signe de Saturn, (Bromera, 2007).
