This book is in Romanian. It is a collection of poems by the Romanian contemporary poet Ioan Popa.

Poeziile din prezentul volum pot conferi autorului calitatea de autor de texte muzicale.

Scrisul său a fost remarcat de publicaţii precum Le Monde, Revue Des Deux Mondes sau de posturi de radio precum Deutschlandfunk sau Radio France Internationale. Romanul său ROBI PE URANUS, apărut la Editura HUMANITAS a fost tradus în limba franceză la Editions NON LIEU.

În ciuda acestor aspecte oarecum meritorii ale biografiei lui, autorul duce o existenţă retrasă, participând, arareori, doar la unele lansări de carte ale Editurii Beta.

Această atitudine are o anumită explicaţie. Fidel culturii pe care a acumulat-o, el are ca modele clasicii în timp ce toată literatura contemporană este de inspiraţie modernistă şi postmodernistă.

Cu alte cuvinte, autorul este un proclasic viu (deşi clasicii sunt morţi demult) în timp ce aproape toţi poeţii contemporani lui sunt "morţi" din punct de vedere clasic, deşi sunt cât se poate de vii biologic vorbind.

Acest paradox nu putea să ducă în nici un caz la o apropiere a scriitorului de lumea literară contemporană de care el s-a simţit întotdeauna străin. El însuşi, conştient de acest lucru, scrie în poemul Balada nopţii:

"În somnul meu visam, ţin minte:
Muriseră poeţii soţi,
Eu mă plimbam printre morminte
Uitându-mă pe rând la toţi.

Stăteau coşciugele deschise
Puse-n al criptelor antreu
Şi-n ultimul, ucis de vise,
Dormeam pe spate-ntins chiar eu..."

Prezent întâmplător la Biblioteca Metropolitană Bucureşti la o reuniune a revistei CONTEMPORANUL unde poeta Aura Cristi îşi citea propriile poezii, scriitorul, după ce a ascultat un timp versurile acesteia, s-a ridicat şi a părăsit sala murmurând nedumerit, la fel ca Pontmercy din romanul Mizerabilii de Hugo: "Je ne sais point si c'est moi qui n'entends plus le roumain ou si c'est vous qui ne le parlez plus."

Ioan Popa (despre care putem spune că este şi scriitor al spaţiului francofon) se îndreaptă prin prezentul volum către noul lirism european şi încearcă să se apropie de condiţia de lyricist (sau parolier). Unele dintre poeziile din prezenta carte, puse pe muzică, pot contribui la producerea unor veritabile hit-uri.

Cine crede că astfel de versuri aparent omogene şi deloc complicate sunt desuete şi rod al unui efort artistic facil face o gravă eroare: poemele de acest fel, aparent delicate şi clasice în simplitatea lor, cer o muncă şi o concentrare artistică de excepţie şi pot fi extrem de complexe şi profunde, în timp ce poemele moderniste cele mai ermetice şi incifrate se pot dovedi extrem de simpliste şi superficiale în construcţia şi filosofia lor.

În afara textelor pretabile a fi puse pe muzică, prezentul volum conţine şi poeme ample scrise în acelaşi stil clasic ori chiar poeme patriotice care impresionează prin muzicalitatea şi stilul lor.

Rămâne ca publicul iubitor de poezie (atât cât mai există astăzi în România) să facă în acest fel "cunoştinţă" cu un volum care poate reprezenta un moment aparte în poezia română, dar şi în mentalitatea criticilor literari actuali.

About the Author: Ioan POPA s-a născut in judeţul Argeş in satul Negreni şi este autor de romane şi cărţi de poezie apărute in limbile romană şi franceză. Unele dintre aceste volume, precum Scrisoare către Pacepa" sau Robi pe Uranus," au devenit bestselleruri. Autorul a scris in limba franceză sub pseudonimul Edouard Hugo Leroy.

Este absolvent al unei şcoli militare de ofiţeri (de tancuri) şi licenţiat al Facultăţii de Filologie a Universităţii de Stat din Bucureşti.
