Este livro constitui um de três ensaios produzidos, entre os anos de 2020 e 2021, e publicados posteriormente em conjunto com o título de "Renda, Lutas de Classes e Revolução".

O processo de autonomização do capital ao tornar o mercado de trabalho sempre favorável ao capital tornou, também, a luta entre capital e trabalho um fator "corriqueiro" do cotidiano capitalista, encobrindo o real significado da luta de classes e seu caráter revolucionário. Todavia, ela se faz presente em cada ambiente que vivenciamos. Na nossa casa, escola, trabalho, no restaurante que frequentamos, etc. Enfim, em todas as relações sociais porque ela é o ar que o capitalismo respira, a energia que lhe dá vida, sua essência e o seu segredo. Marx descobriu tal enigma e o revelou, de forma lógica e histórica, através da categoria do mais-valor. Vivemos, assim, em um mundo de "ficção jurídica", de justiça, liberdade e igualdade, que em nada reflete o mundo econômico real, de concentração de riqueza, desigualdade, exploração, expropriação e devastação desenfreada dos recursos naturais. No entanto, a luta de classes está mais do que nunca na ordem do dia. Precisamos redescobrir sua força e usá-la em favor de uma sociabilidade diferente.

JOSÉ MICAELSON LACERDA MORAIS é professor associado do Departamento de Economia da Universidade Regional do Cariri - URCA, desde 1995. Graduado em Ciências Econômicas pela mesma Instituição, mestre em Engenharia de Produção, pela UFPB, doutor em Economia da Indústria e da Tecnologia, pela UFRJ, e pós-doutor em Desenvolvimento Econômico pelo Centro de Estudos do Desenvolvimento Econômico - CEDE, da Unicamp. Ao longo de sua vida acadêmica realizou diversas orientações de iniciação científica, monografias e dissertações. Publicou vários artigos, capítulos de livros e livros. Coordenou o Centro de Estudos e Pesquisas Econômicas - CEPEC, do Departamento de Economia da URCA, no qual introduziu a pesquisa da cesta básica no Cariri Cearense, realizada, processada e analisada, pelos próprios estudantes. Participou de várias funções administrativas, tais como: Chefia de Departamento; Comitê Científico, Conselho Universitário, Conselho de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão; Pró-reitoria de Administração (adjunto), Direção do Centro de Estudos Sociais Aplicados; Coordenação local de programa de doutorado interinstitucional. Atualmente leciona as disciplinas de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Economia Política II.
