About the Book

The Sky Is Green, The Grass Is Pink by MD Weems takes you through a mind with TLE, temporal lobe epilepsy. The book is a mix of poetry, artwork, and asemic writing that the author and artist has done from 2016 to 2018. In the book, you will find a full-color, in depth look at how TLE affects the mind, how it can cause obsessive creation streaks, the pain and joy that it can bring, as well as a better understanding of how those with TLE have contributed to art and written works over the centuries. Readers will learn that epilepsy is not something to be scared of, it is something that can pull some of the most wonderous creative works from the minds of those that suffer with it. In The Sky Is Green, The Grass Is Pink, MD Weems will take you through her own mind by way of poetry, paintings, and more.
About the Author: MD (Mandi) Weems is an award winning writer and artist from Tulsa, OK. Since 1996, she has been writing for clients all over the world. Her written works have been used in college level text books over game design as well as US Patents over virtual character design. In her writing career to date, she has written over 200 titles and thousands of articles. How can she write so much? MD Weems suffers from TLE, temporal lobe epilepsy, which lends to both her ability to write and create as much as she does. Diagnosed in 2015, her TLE stems from a bout with bacterial meningitis in 1996. Her artwork is a mix of texture and beauty, the majority of which are sculpted canvases that encourage the viewer to feel the art with their fingertips as well as see it. Her artistic works have been featured in several galleries around Oklahoma and in exhibits at Oklahoma State University. To learn more about her and her work, please visit MDWeems.com
