About the Book

Taken by the cosmic energy bolt that resembled striking lightning during a tornado's thunderstorm from 1957 Oklahoma and the convent she was assigned to serve by one stern judge to avoid jail, Evelyn Lynn Weiss awakens on some strange new world with two suns and four moons known by its inhabitants as Sepharata. Thrust into a harsh daily struggle for survival and escaping one tyrannical female ruler bent on her death, Evelyn gradually adapts to life in this strange new world, taking the alias Helena Soror and shipping out as a sailor into further harrowing adventures. Over the next few months, the 20-year-old learn about her crucial role as an important future military, political and religious figure, chosen by God to unite the many divided, primitive humans populating Sepharata into His service and worship. First, however, the former delinquent borderline crimimal must again confront and defeat the Sword-Despotrix Saffron, who ordered her execution soon after she arrived on Sepharata, as the divinely inspired holy woman Sister Helena of the Sword. This fantasy novel is both a stand-alone story and first volume in the multi-generational Sepharata Saga.
About the Author: John X. Grey is the pen name of Edwin Ray Haney, a Southern Ohio native who has lived his entire life in the same small town along the the Ohio River, one he chooses to keep anonymous, considering it in some ways as terra incognita or parts unknown. Writing speculative fiction since the late 1990s, Grey has authored close to a dozen novels since 2000, along with more than 100 shorter fiction pieces and a handful of poems to his credit. Some of those stories and poems appear in anthologies from Aurora Wolf Press, Lame Goat/Shade City Press, Leucrota Press, Pill Hill Press, Static Movement and Wicked East Press, and at the websites Static Movement Online and Tales of the Zombie War. With three other self-published novels in 2011 and 2012, the sci-fi adventure Worldjumpers: An amazing Journey to Parallel Worlds, the vampire hunter noir horror suspense tale A Legacy of Blood: Jack Petrov Private Investigator/Vampire Hunter and the new superhero fantasy volume The Circle of Light, Grey now releases his fourth self-published effort, with more yet to come from this prolific 21st Century author. Often the social misfit through his life, Grey fully believes writing to be his divinely-inspired calling as a born-again Christian and self-described Anti-Celebrity and Omega Male. He can be reached with any reader feedback about his work at either johnxgrey@yahoo.com or edhaney@roadrunner.com.
