Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Germanistik, Note: 2,3, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In den aktuellen Zeiten der Globalisierung und des Zusammenwachsens speziell Europas wird auch in den Schulen immer mehr Wert auf Mehrsprachigkeit gelegt. Vor allem das frühe Fremdsprachenlernen in der Grundschule ist in den Blickpunkt geraten. Innerhalb der letzten zehn Jahre ist das Einstiegsalter für das Erlernen einer ersten Fremdsprache stetig gesunken, in den meisten Bundesländern wird inzwischen statt in Klasse 5 schon in Klasse 1 mit Englisch- oder Französischunterricht begonnen. Für den Fremdsprachenbeginn in jungen Jahren müssen neue Bedingungen geschaffen werden. Da jüngere Kinder andere Bedürfnisse und Interessen haben als Schülerinnen und Schüler in der Sekundarstufe, muss auch der Unterricht anderen Konzepten folgen. Eine Methode ist dabei die Verbindung von Sprache und Musik und die damit verbundene Einbeziehung von musikalischen Elementen in den Sprachenunterricht. Auf genau dieses Konzept bezieht sich die vorliegende Arbeit. Es soll untersucht werden, wie sich Musik auf das Lernen vor allem in unterrichtlichen Situationen auswirkt. Zunächst werden dazu die Entwicklungen der Forschung und aktuelle Forschungsstände im Bereich des frühen Fremdsprachenlernens beschrieben. In diesem Zusammenhang wird auch erklärt, wie Sprachenlernen, insbesondere Zweitsprachenlernen in Unterrichtssituationen, abläuft. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt dann auf dem Aspekt der Musik im Fremdsprachenunterricht der Grundschule. Die zentralen Fragen sind dabei, wie Musik eingesetzt werden kann, um Sprache zu lernen und welche Aspekte von Musik auf welche Weise das Lernen unterstützen können. Dazu werden verschiedene Ansätze dargestellt, unter anderem auch der Einsatz von rhythmischen Elementen, die genauer betrachtet werden sollen.
