En este libro, se propone un nuevo método de investigación con simulaciones de eventos mecánicos (Mechanical Event Simulation, MES), como una alternativa a las metodologías experimentales y analíticas, para el estudio del comportamiento dinámico de piezas en rotación, con un modelo numérico de rodamiento de rodillos cilíndricos, analizado por medio del método de los elementos finitos en código comercial Algor(TM), para simulación de eventos mecánicos. Con el modelo se analizará la distribución de fuerzas de contacto sobre la pista externa debida a la dinámica de las piezas de rotación del rodamiento. El modelo numérico fue validado por comparación entre las fuerzas de reacción de contacto rodillo-pista externa que proporciona, con las que se deducen del modelo analítico propuesto por Jones-Harris. Se realizó con el modelo de rodamiento propuesto, un análisis del deslizamiento de los elementos rodantes sobre la pista externa. El estudio permitió diferenciar una zona en la que el deslizamiento se mantiene prácticamente nulo: la zona de rodadura. Se realiza el estudio de los efectos de la velocidad del eje y del coeficiente de fricción sobre el deslizamiento y las fuerzas de contacto.
