Asset management is a section of finance that looks at managing money for individuals and institutions. Studies estimate that asset management makes up close to 25% of all financial wealth that exists today! Yet, this sector of finance hasn't deserved the attention it gets, sometimes getting overshadowed by other parts of finance such as investment banking. That's now changing. Many of the largest banks are doubling down on their asset management business as a profit generator. You should know about this industry!

Very few indeed. That's where this book comes in. In short, bitesize chapters, I will show you how the asset management industry works.
What is covered in this book?
I will show you a 360 view of the industry, covering topics including the industry's main asset managers, who the main types of clients are, and most importantly, how people within the money management industry look at themselves. In addition, the book covers the main systems used from a corporate reporting standpoint and common jargon used within the industry. As a little bonus, I also give you a framework to think about the main drivers of any industry. I then apply that model to asset management.
