What if you were hired to protect one of Hollywood's most valuable assets-and she disappeared?
Richard Braddock is a former Green Beret captain and founder of Star Shield Security Group, a premier celebrity protection company. Married to the woman of his dreams, Braddock is enjoying the best of what success has to offer-until things go horribly wrong. His top client, an A-list actress working for a major studio on a big-budget action movie, suddenly vanishes...along with her Star Shield bodyguard.
With the studio threatening to ruin his career, Braddock scrambles to assemble a team with law enforcement, military, and even criminal backgrounds that will do whatever it takes to find the star before she turns up dead.
Their investigation explores the actress's secret life and uncovers an ingenious adversary fueled by revenge, who forces Braddock to make choices that could haunt him the rest of his life-if he survives.
Randy Bowie - Screen International Security Services Lead Celebrity Protection Agent Catching Fire - Hunger Games 2:
"Shining Target is an authentic representation of the experience and relationships inside a premier celebrity protection firm, creating an accurate depiction of what could happen if someone with enough military experience and resources wanted to cripple a hundred million dollar production that was cutting corners on the expense of protection for one of its stars. The story is told with an escalating tension that kept me running back to the book every free moment I had to read."
Using a first-person narrative, in the vein of authors such as Robert Crais and Raymond Chandler, David Elliott draws from his personal experience as a film industry professional and a private investigator to craft a page-turning thriller that delves into the obscure underbelly of Hollywood.
About the Author: David Elliott started his artistic career as an actor, playing leading roles in the feature films Jaws 2, The Possession of Joel Delaney, Phantom of the Open Hearth, and A Rumor of War. Except he found that playing "let's pretend" was an unreliable way for a man to make a living. So he's also worked in Hollywood as aprofessional boxer, set builder, private investigator, and building contractor. He serves on the Executive Board of a major entertainment labor union, and as a PI, was elected president of the California Association of Judgment Enforcement Professionals.
Mr. Elliott is happily married to artist Gabrielle D. McKenna-Elliott. And, in addition to raising their son, the couple enjoys playing hockey and exploring the world with skis, bicycles, kayaks, or on foot.
