About the Book

Prophet Day-Day, wheelchair-bound Prophet Wire-Lapeng and Prophet Billy-Mangenje failed and discontinued from the University of Botswana. Now they are unemployed and back home in Pilikwe but economically stable. They spend most of their time at Mama Kea's shebeen. Together with the shebeen queen, a former biology teacher, they call themselves The Truth Speaks and meet regularly under the Tree of Knowledge where they dissect and analyse their thoughts, and share what they have learnt from books and YouTube. Their mission is to see the whole village embracing knowledge... As a pilot project towards their course, Prophet Day-Day agrees to trace and bring to the Tree of Knowledge a coquettish con artist named Girlie who was last sighted in Palapye, as the team contends that knowledge is the road towards knowing and understanding oneself. .. But challenges crop up when Prophet Day-Day develops amorous feelings towards Girlie. And when Girlie gets arrested and goes to prison, Prophet Day-Day is left questioning and turning against his own beliefs...In the small town of Pilikwe, three unlikely companions find themselves at a crossroads in life. Prophet Day-Day, wheelchair-bound Prophet Wire-Lapeng, and Prophet Billy-Mangenje may have faced setbacks and dropped out of the University of Botswana, but they have managed to maintain financial stability since returning home. Seeking solace and intellectual stimulation, they frequently gather at Mama Kea's shebeen. Alongside the shebeen queen, a former biology teacher, they proudly call themselves The Truth Speaks.

Their chosen meeting spot is none other than the revered Tree of Knowledge, a sanctuary where they unravel their thoughts, dissecting and analyzing them with utmost precision. Within this sacred space, they eagerly share insights derived from their voracious consumption of books and YouTube.

United by a common vision, The Truth Speaks strives to ignite a thirst for knowledge throughout their entire village. Embracing this noble cause, Prophet Day-Day agrees to embark on a groundbreaking endeavor. His mission: to track down and bring to the Tree of Knowledge a cunning and alluring con artist named Girlie, who was last seen in Palapye. The team firmly believes that true wisdom lies on the path to self-discovery, and introducing Girlie to this pursuit would act as a pilot project for their ambitious venture.

However, as the story unfolds, unforeseen challenges present themselves. Prophet Day-Day's journey takes an unexpected turn when he finds himself hopelessly entangled in a web of infatuation with the enigmatic Girlie. Matters escalate further when Girlie is apprehended and confined to prison, leaving Prophet Day-Day torn between his newfound emotions and his deeply rooted beliefs.

For Prophet Day-Day, this tumultuous experience becomes a catalyst for soul-searching and personal growth. Will he remain steadfast in his pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment, or will he succumb to the complexities of his heart's desires?
