About the Book

"Shattered Fate and the Laws of Existence" by Billy Morris explores the intertwined destinies of two planets, Eden and Metro, which once existed at opposite ends of the time spectrum. Despite colliding into each other the newly formed world was held together by magic, a force that diminishes with each new individual born with the power of magic.
Different regions of the planet gave distinct magical gifts to their inhabitants based on the light from the two suns. Those born under the yellow sun wield elemental magic, those under the red sun possess transformative abilities, and those between the two suns have powers of sight or will. In contrast, the Dark Lands, lacking sunlight, did not naturally produce magic-wielders.

Over centuries, the magic guilds, which initially formed to protect kingdoms from power-hungry warmongers, gradually became rulers of themselves. The Dark Lands, unable to rely on magic, genetically engineered dragons for protection. These dragons, though initially effective, posed a significant risk if their riders were killed or if they turned wild. As a result, dragon guilds emerged to hunt rogue dragons, further complicating the societal dynamics.
The narrative follows the rise of Lord Haden, a powerful warmonger who controls four master dragons and numerous magic guilds. For 150 years, Haden's regime has conquered kingdom after kingdom in the western light regions but has shifted toward the central kingdom of Utopia.

Airus, Haden's commanding general, leads the campaign against Utopia. The story begins with Airus pushing his weary troops through a rainforest, questioning Haden's obsession with conquering Utopia. Haden's strategic use of fear, amplified by his dragons, is intended to break Utopia's defenses.

Angelina, a young witch in Utopia, struggles to control her magical abilities. Isolated and insecure, she wants to help defend her kingdom.

Anna, a young dragon rider from the Dark Lands, yearns to explore the light regions. Her mentor, Gaho-Meda, teaches her the ancient ways and the importance of understanding the laws of existence.

Airus and a mysterious warrior awaken on a battlefield, with the latter suffering from amnesia. They embark on a journey to find their army and survive amidst the chaos.

The novel delves into themes of fate, destiny, and the cyclical nature of existence. It explores the balance of power between technology and magic, the consequences of genetic manipulation, and the enduring human (and non-human) spirit in the face of cosmic and terrestrial upheavals.

"Shattered Fate and the Laws of Existence" combines elements of science fiction and fantasy to create a complex narrative about survival, power, and the laws that govern the universe.
