Desde que visite China por primera vez el año 1993, para competir en sendos Torneos Internacionales, en especial en las ciudades de Jinan y Yantai de la provincia de Shandong, quede extasiado, emocionado, alucinado, por todo lo que allí pude ver, sus artes marciales, sus Maestros, sus gentes...La segunda vez visite ademas de Jinan, la ciudad de Qingdao, donde mi alma ya no pudo mas, allí conocí a varios grandes Maestros de varios estilos de Kungfu, quienes me abrieron sus puertas, sus corazones, y me mostraron sus grandes conocimientos y todo su apoyo para mis ideas. También conocí a Liu Wenyue Shifu, quien seria mi Maestro, mi padre, para el resto de mi vida.He viajado por la provincia de Shandong en muchas ocasiones, visitando la montaña Taishan y el Palacio del Emperador de Jade, con su místico Kungfu, la montaña Liangshan, cuna de los 108 Héroes o rebeldes de la dinastía Song y sus varios métodos de Kungfu, cuyos descendientes aun siguen enseñando tales artes marciales, la montaña Laoshan, origen del Tanglang Quan y otros métodos de Kungfu, tanto taoístas como budistas.He visitado ciudades como Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Longkou... Donde he conocido grandes Maestros que me han mostrado sus grandes conocimientos y apoyado en mis investigaciones sobre la provincia norteña de Kungfu y sus más de 60 estilos reconocidos aun hoy día.Desde lejanas épocas, la provincia de Shandong ya se había revelado tanto como fuente de leyendas, como de héroes, filósofos, pensadores, estrategas y gentes de poderes místicos para el resto de la milenaria China. Shandong fue uno de los primeros lugares en los que los Bóxers comenzaron su revuelta, convirtiéndose en uno de los principales centros de la sublevación. El levantamiento de los bóxers, conocido en China como el Levantamiento Yihetuan, 'los puños firmes' o, literalmente: 'los puños firmes y armoniosos', fue un movimiento contra la influencia comercial, política, religiosa y tecnológica foránea en China durante los últimos años del siglo XIX, desde noviembre de 1899 hasta el 7 de septiembre de 1901. Esta es una provincia donde nombres como Song Jiang y su banda de proscritos de la montaña Liangshan han significado para los chinos, lo mismo que Robín Hood y su grupo del bosque de Sherwood, significaron para los británicos. Shandong es una provincia que comparte los honores de ser la cuna de los grandes filósofos Confucio y Mencio, del primer emperador de China: Qinshi Huangdi, del famoso escritor Pu Songling, del poeta Li Qingzhao, de Sun Zi, autor del famoso libro Sun Zi Bing Fa o El Arte de la Guerra, primer betseler de estrategias de guerra en la historia del mundo, de numerosos héroes como los 108 de Liangshan y grandes Maestros de Wushu o Kungfu, como Wang Lang, creador del estilo Tanglang Quan. Estilos que hoy día aún perduran. Las montañas Taishan, Laoshan y Liangshan en la provincia de Shandong, están reconocidas como montañas sagradas y tres de los lugares más místicos de China, habiendo servido durante siglos como lugar de inspiración espiritual para los emperadores chinos, monjes, pensadores y Maestros de Wushu/Kungfu. No hay pues porque sorprenderse de que el año 1982, cuando el gobierno chino se decidió a investigar todos los sistemas importantes de Wushu, encontrase que la provincia norteña de Shandong era el origen de 66 de los 220 sistemas de artes marciales chinas conocidas actualmente. Estos sistemas incluyen; Cha Quan, Meihua Quan, Tanglang Quan, Wensheng Quan, Bagua Zhang y Liujia Quan entre otros. Tan sólo las provincias de Hebei y Henan se le pueden comparar. Hoy día, Shandong todavía inspira a muchos a seguir el verdadero camino para llegar a ser auténticos luchadores de Wushu/Kungfu.
