In The Clan, the first volume of the Book of Jasher series, antiquities dealer Benjamin Jasher revealed the record of an unusual artifact that detailed the beginnings of humanity and an ongoing battle with the Man of Shadows over the agency of mankind.
Now in Shadow of the Scar, Jasher reveals more information about this war of wills to control the destiny of mankind. In this the second volume, the ancient civilization of Babylonia is the backdrop for the machinations of the Clan of the Scar with the Man of Shadows at its head. The influence of the Clan begins to insinuate outwards to all succeeding civilizations and Jasher must reveal the role this brotherhood has played in the establishment of history's greatest empires.
This organization, the Clan, has as its primary goal to deny humanity any right to personal choice. It has corrupted kingdoms and crowned tyrants. But now, Jasher knows too much, and he has decided the time has come to reveal to the world the influence of this ancient society. Falsely accused of a heinous crime, he must go on the run, and with his colleagues attempt to continue the translation which would disclose to the world the plan of control by the Clan.
Their collaboration reveals new insights about the workings and influence of the Clan upon the early civilizations of the Sumerians, Akkadians, and Babylonians. He and his colleagues translate ancient writings that detail events leading up to, and including, the physical division of the continents, the confusion of languages, and the downfall of the early American civilization of the Olmecs.
In this historical novel, author Bill W. Sanford takes readers both to the future and back to the early civilizations of mankind, where, in the ancient Middle East, the Man of Shadows and the Clan are planning their next move.
In 2025 and undaunted by the forces of the Clan, Jasher and his colleagues must continue the work of translation so that an unsuspecting world will know of this dark society and its aims for complete domination.
