About the Author: Ms. Shira Dillon has been educating high school students since the young age of 20. She is not only a teacher to her students, but also finds herself serving in roles as mother, mentor, consultant and friend. For over fifteen years, Shira has used her Bachelor's degree in English, Speech Communication and Theater, and her Master's Degree in Education to enhance the lives of others, which has all contributed to her ability to understand young people. Shira Dillon uses her talent as an entertainer and speaker to create an abundance of opportunities to give to her students. In addition to teaching English, Shira has taught Drama, Filmmaking, Life Skills and Speech Communication to students in both Indiana and California. It is through these courses that Shira has been able to make lasting relationships with students and parents. What makes Shira unique is that she is able to empathize with teens and adults battling teen issues because she has been there. Shira openly shares her own personal struggles growing up and how she overcame them.
