About the Book

SERVANT OF BAST: An epic story from way down under every bit as big as the Big Red Land it is set in. Where urban fantasy becomes suburban reality for a young Melbourne vet, who finds himself the unwitting servant to a mystical power and spiritual presence born from a culture that existed 4000 years before and half a world away. Beguiled and bewitched by his introduction to a woman who's beauty and sexual allure haunt his every waking moment, hard-working Melbourne vet, John Donovan, through his coming into contact with the ancient and living spirit of the goddess, Bastet herself, alive and existing in the form of an extraordinary cat, finds himself inexplicably drawn into a tangled web of deceit, sexual intrigue and betrayal, as his life is taken over by the far reaching hand of ancient mysticism. His life, his relationships with those he loves; in particular with his beautiful young wife, Susan, who is soon lured into the seamy side of upmarket swinger's parties and adultery, John Donovan finds himself tested to the very limits of his mental endurance and understanding. Forcing himself to question and to doubt his own sanity, his loyalty and devotion to his wife are tested by the presence of an alluring and beautiful woman of mystery, as the will of the goddess takes control of his life and enters his very being. From the sedate tree-lined avenues of upmarket Toorak and Kew, to the heat and dust of the ancient streets of Cairo, our story is that of antiquity smuggling, organised crime, sexual depravity, adultery, murder, drugs and corporate fraud, and treasure, and one very special cat named Bast. Reader reviews very much appreciated.
