"Show them to the mud, gentlemen!"
Ray is having his own problems in life. Besides being a loving husband, his work life is getting affected because of the time he has to provide for his wife. He doesn't care how long it keeps him away from his job but being the best detective in the country, he has too much going on at work to be saying a blunt NO!
When he does return back to NYPD, the state has for him a strange case, a case for which he has to move out of New York and into the Easton County.
When he does arrive, he finds more oil than water in the sea.⚠ Oil spills have suddenly surged in the ocean, and they are all linked to a single oil company: The Fergusons Oil and Co. The cornered Fergusons have only one last attempt to save their oil ships from sinking in the ocean bed, and they have asked Ray to help them save their own reputation and their company's goodwill.
But for Ray, things are not that simple. Unraveling the mysterious Fergusons case, he has found a loophole which links this case back to the death of an ◆influential tycoon, S.S.. It is not the linking that boggles Ray, but the death itself which intrigues him further. Since ten years, S.S. is dead in the eyes of the public but Ray's detective sense smells the stench of his blood lurking by, and fears the oil spills are his doing. He has the clues that make his suspect a culprit alright, but to save the Fergusons, he has to play his cards right or face the bluff.
Ray knows this is the biggest test of his life and the suspense just unsettles him even further. Being the best detective in the country, his hopes for this case don't seem staunch enough. He has to make a choice and there's no time to waste as each day brings a new oil spill, and a fresh letter from the courtroom for the Fergusons.
S.S. has spread his cobwebs in fine threads for both Ray and the Fergusons. Will Ray be able to save them or will S.S. entangle them all in this fight for survival? A tale of two sagas, both maestros in their own careers, but this case will bring one of them down for sure. Who will it be? That's for the mud to decide...
