ACERCA DE PAINE Thomas Paine (1737-1809) de origen inglés. Filósofo, político y revolucionario americano. Es considerado Padre Fundador de los Estados Unidos de América por sus contribuciones expuestas en el ensayo El sentido común, donde aboga por la independencia de las colonias. Asimismo, fue incluido dentro de la Asamblea Nacional en Francia y le otorgaron la nacionalidad honorífica. En su texto Los derechos del hombre defendió los ideales de la Revolución francesa. Sin embargo, sus ideas políticas y religiosas lo llevaron a ser aislado políticamente y murió ignorado el 8 de junio de 1809 en Nueva York.
