Self-discipline refers to the code of behaviour that one prescribes for oneself in the microcosm to finish a specific job or in the macrocosm to create and enforce a set level of behaviour under all conditions. For example, if I wish to lose 10 pounds and decide on a three-month regimen to follow a specific discipline regime, it will be task-oriented self-discipline. On the other hand, if I choose to follow the Golden Rule of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," I will become self-disciplined and develop a consistent pattern of conduct in my interactions.
A New Year is an excellent opportunity to make resolutions. Some New Year's resolutions will be forgotten before the end of the month. If this happens often, we get used to a resolution pattern-a negative view of any compromise that stops us from forgiving ourselves. We subscribe to the deterministic concept that "we are what we are because we are what we are." Consequently, most of us live in self-denial as we become separated from our origins, resulting in a drain on our resources. The flip side of the coin is that we may be self-disciplined and pursue our life objectives to remain connected to our origins.
Creating an intention is defined as having a strong enthusiasm for a particular goal and taking decisive action to accomplish that goal. Creating an affirmation is a declaration of purpose. In this case, the goal is to lose 10 pounds over three months. To make my wish a plan, I must get enthused about it. The excitement is generated by envisioning myself as having already achieved my objective, followed by all of the pleasant and happy feelings that will come from the performance. Once this is ingrained in mind, the affirmation will be something like, "I, Sanjay Behuria, will weigh 130 pounds instead of my present 140 pounds on April 12, 2009, to assist me have a prosperous and safe life while looking slender and attractive." To have self-discipline, you must first build a link between the numerous factors that contribute to the end product.
