About the Book

Alarmingly there is a new generation being born with Lyme disease by unsuspecting young mothers who themselves are unknowingly infected. Lyme disease is often misdiagnosed as one or more of the many chronic illnesses, by "specialists" who are still ignorant of the many manifestations it can present. The long-held myth as the "Great Imitator" of modern chronic illnesses is slowly yielding to the evidence as the "Great Originator" of severe mental and physical impairment. The consequences can be debilitating, even fatal, if not identified and treated properly. Too often, people who remain undiagnosed are at a far greater risk of violent behavior or suicide. Long-term antibiotic treatment still remains the best option for treatment. Depending on the length and severity of the infection, it can take months or perhaps years for the disease to subside. Nearly all those who undertake antibiotic treatment, long-term, see real improvement in quality of life and a higher probability of cure. Stephen Amsden shares a personal story of victory over advanced late-stage Neuroborreliosis, otherwise known as Lyme disease, with a surprising twist of unforeseen spiritual transformation and a second chance at a new life. This story reveals his harrowing journey through decades of misdiagnosis, finally discovering the truth after reluctantly agreeing to a third test submitted to IGeneX Lab, at the insistence of his mother at age forty-nine and the long ordeal of antibiotic treatment at the center of the controversy and dysfunction still surrounding Lyme disease. Too often labeled as "all in your head" by family physicians and specialists, the possibility of Lyme is regularly overlooked, denied or ignored and has become the "lie too big to admit" with increasingly tragic consequences for its victims. In defiance of the odds, the author is living proof that there is the possibility of a cure, and a way to a life not only worth living again, but even the chance of a better one.
About the Author: Stephen Edward Amsden, Rosicrucian, Martinist, Theosophist, is founder of the South Berkshire Research Institute of Spiritual Science and the Lymester Advocacy Group. Stephen majored in Philosophy at the University of Hartford, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Franklin Pierce College after employment at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland during the 1980s. During his career as a network administrator, he resigned abruptly in 2006 due to an unknown debilitating health condition that was later learned to be Lyme disease.
