Understanding concepts such as the subconscious mind and how it communicates with us through intuition can help us achieve great things if only we recognize its existence and pay attention to its messages, which not only present themselves as physical or emotional feeling but which we also have the ability to read using our own bodies as the messenger. About the Author: Marcie Martinez was raised in the small northern New Mexico community of Chimayó, experiencing rural life from the beginning and developing a strong connection to her community. She has always been deeply connected to her cultural roots, as northern New Mexico has a rich history tied to customs and traditions of both the Native Americans as well as Spaniards who came through Mexico, bringing along a certain way of life. From a very young age she developed a love of reading, writing and helping others but only recently began realizing those passions after taking a leap of faith and leaving the financial security of a well-paying full time job. Marcie received a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University and a master's degree in Materials Science from Colorado School of Mines. She worked for several years at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in various engineering roles, including nuclear materials science, plastics engineering, weapon test engineering, and quality engineering. Standing up for what she feels is right, she has inadvertently been involved in various activist-type activities without realizing it thus she refers to herself as an "accidental activist". Her adventures in this role are sure to be part of future books. Recognizing the importance of having a balanced life, Marcie hopes to help others tap into their own passions through their intuition and ensure those passions are given the attention they deserve, which will provide greater individual fulfillment and accomplishment as well as holistic health. In addition to her endeavors of researching and sharing information about natural health Marcie is a creative writer working on her own memoir and seeks to help write the memoirs and biographies of others in her community who inspire her.
