A light-hearted romance about love, trust, and taking chances. Alex is a recently single, unemployed personal chef. Connor is a jaded, world-weary rock star. Together they have a second chance at first love. Add some panty-melting sex scenes, a grumpy grandfather, and quirky friends, and you have the recipe for a happily ever after worth waiting for. 18+
When Connor, lead singer for the band Sleeping Dogs, finds himself face to face with his first love and childhood sweetheart, Alex, a personal chef who's recently discovered her boyfriend's infidelity, he's not surprised to still feel a spark, despite spending the last twenty years apart.
The last time Alex last saw Connor, she'd just lost her parents. Since then she's moved to a new city, made some interesting friends, and suffered more heartache than any thirty-six-year-old woman should have to endure. After her most recent breakup, she's decided the only way to protect her heart is to swear off men forever. When Connor reappears in her life unexpectedly, and her heart tells her she never got over him, she's not so sure that swearing off men is such a good idea.
The past twenty years have been kind to Connor. Sure, Alex lost her parents and left him without warning, but he used that heartbreak to write some amazing songs and sell millions of albums with his band, Sleeping Dogs. But as he gets older, the lifestyle that comes with being a celebrity begins to lose its lustre, and Connor wishes he had something more meaningful in his life. His family uses him for his money, his fans use him for his music, and all the women he dates use him for his fame (and okay, probably also for his money). Then Alex shows up at his concert and takes him by surprise. Maybe now he has a chance to start over, and to find the meaning he's been missing.
Unfortunate circumstances, crazy coincidences, quirky friends, and a love that's worth fighting for come together in this steamy romantic comedy about a couple that maybe, just maybe, got it right the first time.
