About the Book

The road of life changes people through their existence. What brings people to be and what changes a person's identity are rationalized through many different philosophies. Ordinary citizens in our society that have become productive professionals have been given gifted attributes and with a little luck have an opportunity to live a good life. Sometimes the fortunate are lacking or carry a chip on their shoulder, which stifles the true essence of enjoying the most valued virtue, unconditional love. These four longtime school friends come together for the last reunion, chartering a fishing boat off Miami Florida. A Captain and a mate, together they total six men in an adventure to catch the one that got away. To their shock, they become the fish and the fishermen reel them into opening their eyes so they will learn what is their true mission in life. Leaving many to ask questions which only can be answered by one's inner soul. Do we need a platform to change, or is our destiny written in stone? Our past has altered who we have become, what will the future form? Mythology, sci-fi and the nature of people clash in this easy read, although it raises several key questions we all should be asking, some of the subjects for thought from this fictional short story are: - To reach a person's potential, they must let go of the past. - Do we have free will? - Unconditional love is the greatest example of free will. - What is our purpose/mission in life? - Creation, is there a plan? Evolution, is everything forming our existence by chance? - Have we discovered all the elements/forces affecting our existence? - Is a platform required for a person to change? - Is our destiny written in stone? - Can it be that if there is a creator and our mission may entail alleviating human suffering? - Never giving up! This book is one of many to come. It contains some profanity and touches some events that were powerful, e. g. Vietnam. This is a special book that may help millions of people for the betterment of humanity. As you know, diversity is a key component to education and challenging our mind to think beyond the safe havens we hold onto will enlighten.
About the Author: Born in Miami Florida, my father had me on the ocean as a young boy. His extensive experience fishing/boating started in Cuba catching marlin using ropes similar to the Hemingway classic novel "The Old Man and The Sea." These attributes have been passed down to me. Having been raised on the coast of Florida, the ocean will always be a passion that brings adventure and freedom. Fishing, surfing, water skiing, diving and general boating skills have led to many wonderful memories. Having witnessed some unexplainable events on these waters of the Atlantic Ocean has given me the ability to share some adventures on the ocean. Lifelong friendships and watching the changes in their lives accompanied with the responsibilities having supervised trained professions, counseling and conflict resolution brought many different perspectives of human nature. As a volunteer for several charities and mentoring students, it is obvious the benefits of helping others.
